The Cry of Coastal Shores
Abstract
This poetry is the coast itself, taking on human form to tell its own tale and describe the difficulties it faces on a daily basis as a direct result of harmful human activity. Using groynes as an example, the poem aims to raise awareness on the problem of coastline erosion. This explains why the natural shore looks less appealing as time passes. A rift is forming between the coastline and its pals Mr. Longshore, Ms. Cliff, and Ms. Ocean. All of these issues are a direct result of human actions, which have an adverse effect on the coastline on a constant basis. The angry seashore predicts that the ocean will be tyrannical and cause widespread destruction on the day of judgment.
