A systematic survey on cybersecurity for electrical vehicle motor powertrain and drives (EV-MP&D)
Abstract
Electrical vehicles (EVs) use an Internet of Things (IoT) system. This system demands internet connectivity and strong communication protocols to enhance the flexibility and connectivity. With these features, EVs may face cybersecurity-related issues due to increased vulnerabilities within the vehicles. With a focus on motor powertrain and drives (MP&D), this study provides a thorough examination of cybersecurity in EVs. We present a systematic survey of numerous cyber attack detection methods and solution frameworks to resolve these vulnerabilities. These frameworks have several steps: attack identification, detection and mitigation measures to eliminate the impact of harmful activities. It delves into the cyber-physical subsystems (CPSs) found in EVs and describes different types of attacks that aim against these parts. This article goes over the current state of the art and future directions of cyber attack detection in EV-MP&D, and the shortcomings and open questions surrounding these methods. Recently implemented cyber attack detection methodologies, as well as cybersecurity solutions and frameworks, have been covered in this paper. Lastly, this paper draws attention to important areas of EV-MP&D where research is lacking and lays out the trails. With this, researchers hope may lead to breakthroughs in this area in the next few years.
