Transgender and Gender Diverse (TGD) individuals in forensic settings navigate a legal system that frequently lacks the specific guidance necessary for accurate forensic practice. This article provides sixteen research-informed recommendations to integrate gender-affirming principles into forensic assessment and treatment. These recommendations address critical domains including interviewing, diagnostic formulation, psychometric testing, and report writing. By merging respectful, affirming practices with a focus on objectivity and accuracy, this framework bridges the gap between clinical standards and legal demands.
