Dual-parameter high-precision thermometry based on Ca₃Al₄ZnO 10 : Eu 3+ phosphor
Abstract
Abstract To address the demand for high-precision monitoring of dynamic temperature fields, Eu 3+ -doped Ca₃Al₄ZnO 10 phosphors were synthesized via a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The material exhibits a phosphorescence lifetime of approximately 1.6 ms at 22 °C, demonstrating favorable rapid-response characteristics. The temperature-dependent luminescence behavior under 300 Hz modulated excitation was systematically investigated. By simultaneously acquiring two parameters—phosphorescence lifetime and the time-domain peak-to-valley ratio—a dual-parameter joint temperature calibration model was established. Experimental results indicate that the proposed joint method effectively leverages the complementary nature of the two parameters, significantly enhancing measurement accuracy and robustness through mutual cross-verification and error suppression. Evaluations at three characteristic temperatures (3 °C, 55 °C, and 97 °C) within the 0 °C–100 °C calibration range consistently demonstrated the superior performance of the dual-parameter method, achieving a minimum mean absolute error of 0.11 °C at 97 °C. This study provides a reliable and adaptable solution for high-precision phosphor thermometry, showing promising potential for applications in thermal management of electronic devices.
