An inclination angle and wind deflection angle sensing method based on triboelectric nanogenerator for transmission line fault monitoring
Abstract
Abstract Under complex meteorological conditions, the wind deflection angle and inclination angle of transmission lines are prone to drastic changes. It can lead to flashover or line breakage. Therefore, it is important to monitor the wind deflection angle and inclination angle of transmission lines. A dual-dimensional sensing method is proposed in this study. This approach is based on triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) and is designed to measure the inclination angle and wind deflection angle of transmission lines. A theoretical model for dual-dimensional perception is established. Additionally, a dual-dimensional angle sensing unit (DA-SU) is innovatively designed. The DA-SU contains an inclination angle-sensitive TENG (IS-TENG) and a wind deflection angle-sensitive TENG (WS-TENG) within its structure. An experiment system is set up. Experiments are carried out to validate DA-SU’s perception function and test its performance. The experiment results demonstrate that a clear correspondence exists between the sum of the peak output voltages of the IS-TENG and the inclination angle values. The perception error rate is kept below 3.2%. The peak output voltage of the WS-TENG is positively correlated with the magnitude of the wind deflection angle. After undergoing 300 000 cycles of testing, the output voltage of the WS-TENG exhibits no significant distortion. This demonstrates that the DA-SU has a good capability to perceive the wind deflection angle and inclination angle of transmission lines. When applied to transmission line fault detection, it can provide strong guarantees for the stability and safety of the power system.
