Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a low-cost, portable spectroscopy kit and a set of experiments designed to make optics education more accessible through hands-on, active learning in classrooms. Built using a commercial multispectral sensor (AS7263 or AS7262), an Arduino Uno microcontroller, and 3D-printed housing, the kit is a fraction of the cost of commercial spectrophotometers. While maintaining educational accuracy. The designed experiments teach fundamental concepts such as Beer’s law, chemometrics, additive colour mixing in RGB displays, and gamma correction in LCDs. Experimental results for these concepts are also presented, demonstrating the high accuracy that can be achieved.
