Numerical investigation of thermomechanical stress and bending responses of elastoplastic graded structure
Abstract
Abstract The stress and deflection responses of the graded structures are predicted numerically under elevated temperature conditions, considering elastic and elastoplastic mathematical models. In this regard, a third-order kinematic model is assumed, considering an equivalent single-layer theory based on the finite element (FE) technique. Firstly, the monotonic behaviour of the model is confirmed. Further, the model’s accuracy is checked by comparing the deflection responses with published data under normal and high-temperature loading. The developed model is used further to generate results by varying the different geometry-dependent input constraints. Finally, a comprehensive discussion of the influence of input parameters on the final numerical findings is enumerated in detail.
