Ultrahigh sensitive and low current density spin torque diode effect in composite spin valve pillar
Abstract
Abstract We have modelled a Spin Torque Diode (STD) with a composite spin valve pillar. We have identified the factors affecting rectification and conditions to achieve ultrahigh diode sensitivity of 1×10 5 V W −1 with low current density. The study predicts that a damping in spin waves is the favourable condition for signal rectification. This condition ensures that the device can effectively convert AC signals to DC. The simulation also shows favourable condition for the diode to act as a voltage regulator, where the output DC voltage is constant and is independent of the input current density. And anisotropies in the material give rise to broad Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR) peak. The simulation result suggests that the output voltage of the diode increases if there is an increase in uniaxial magnetocystalline anisotropy and interface uniaxial anisotropy. The high sensitivity arises from nanopillar current confinement and composite free layer dynamics that lower the critical current, combined with low damping and optimized anisotropy that enhance spin rectification efficiency.
