Interfacial engineering in hollow MnO@NC@MoS 2 microspheres towards synergistic enhancement of microwave absorption
Abstract
Abstract With the rapid development of modern electronic devices and communication technologies, electromagnetic interference has become increasingly prominent. Herein, a hierarchical hollow microsphere (h-MnO@NC@MoS 2 ) was successfully constructed through a sequential templating method combined with an interfacial engineering strategy. The microsphere is composed of a manganese oxide (MnO) core, a conductive N-doped carbon (NC) interlayer, and a porous molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) outer shell, aiming to achieve high-performance microwave absorption. In this design, the NC interlayer provides a continuous conductive pathway for conduction loss, while the porous MoS 2 shell contributes abundant heterointerfaces for polarization relaxation. This deliberate design enables an outstanding minimum reflection loss of −70.33 dB at a thickness of 1.48 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth value of 5.2 GHz at a thickness of 1.78 mm. The superior performance originates from the synergistic enhancement of impedance matching and multiple attenuation mechanisms, including conduction loss, interfacial polarization, and multiple scattering. This work further confirms the effectiveness of multi-interface design in developing advanced microwave absorbers and provides a valuable reference for the design and preparation of high-performance microwave absorbing materials.
