Ion channel adaptive regulation in neuron model
Abstract
Abstract The ion channels in the nervous system can dynamically adjust to convert ion flow into complex electrical activity patterns, and they form the physical basis for neurons to perceive, calculate, and transmit information. Therefore, effectively simulating the ion channels of biological neurons and investigating their influence on neuronal electrical activity constitute a compelling research topic. This paper designs a neural circuit with three ion channels, one ion channel is obtained by using an inductor connected in series with a resistor and a voltage source, and the other two ion channels are built by applying two memristors connected in series with two voltage sources, respectively. Furthermore, a dynamical model of the neural circuit is derived using Kirchhoff’s laws, and an energy proportion-controlled adaptive regulation scheme is designed to probe the ion channel adaptive characteristics of the neuron. The results of the dynamic analysis indicate that the neuronal electrical activity established in this paper can be effectively regulated through external stimuli and ion channels.
