Paramagnetic Meissner Effect and Anomalous Hall Transport Driven by Strong Pinning in (Cu,C)Ba 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 9-δ Thin Films
Abstract
Abstract The complex interplay between superconductivity and vortex dynamics in high-temperature cuprates remains a rich frontier for discovering novel physical states. Here, we report on the observation of anomalous magnetic and transport phenomena in (Cu,C)Ba 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 9-δ superconducting thin films synthesized via pulsed laser deposition. We observe a robust paramagnetic Meissner effect in low-field field-cooled measurements, which we attribute to the compression and trapping of magnetic flux within an inhomogeneous superconducting landscape. Furthermore, the Hall resistivity exhibits a complex double sign reversal, a behavior we identify as a signature of vortex dynamics dominated by strong pinning and flux backflow. This unified physical picture is strongly supported by the observation of an exceptional critical current density J c reaching 1.8 MA/cm 2 at 20 K, confirming the presence of the potent pinning centers required to stabilize these exotic vortex states. Our work establishes (Cu,C)Ba 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O 9-δ as a unique platform for exploring vortex matter and highlights the dominant role of intrinsic pinning in defining its macroscopic properties.
