Abstract

Abstract We propose a method for the simultaneous measurement of magneto-optical longitudinal and transverse Kerr images using a polarization camera. Longitudinal and transverse Kerr images are obtained by measuring images of Kerr rotation angle and light intensity with P-polarization illumination. These values, Kerr rotation angle and light intensity, are calculated from light intensities at polarization angles of 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135° measured simultaneously with the polarization camera using the Stokes parameter method. In this paper, measurements of patterned permalloy thin films are shown. Measured magnetic domain structures are consistent with those calculated by the micro magnetic simulation.
