Numerical simulation and experimental study of sound and flame
Abstract
Abstract Acoustic interference can easily affect the flame [1] . This paper will explore the influence of sound characteristics on flame parameters through numerical simulation and experiments. The sound characteristics selected are sound frequency, sound pressure level, and waveform; the flame parameters selected are flame temperature and flame area. The direction of numerical simulation and experimental exploration will be determined through pre-experiments. The control variable method will be used to analyze the influence of sound on the flame. Ultimately, it is concluded that the reason why sound extinguishes the flame depends on the wind caused by the vibration of the membrane. In this experiment, when the frequency reaches the natural frequency of the membrane, 50 Hz, the membrane vibrates more intensely, and the flame is more likely to be extinguished; when the frequency reaches the resonant frequency of the flame, 310 Hz, the flame is more likely to be extinguished. At the same time, the sound pressure level is also an important inducing factor.
