Abstract

Abstract The motion stability and safety of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) are critical during their approach to underwater charging platforms. It is essential to analyze the hydrodynamic effects of the charging platform on AUV performance. This study employs Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to solve the hydrodynamic parameters during the approach of an AUV to an underwater charging platform. Through numerical simulations, the flow field characteristics of the AUV near the platform are obtained, and the hydrodynamic responses under the coupled influence of factors such as AUV speed, distance from the platform, and angle of attack are analyzed. The results provide theoretical guidance for ensuring the stability and safety of the AUV’s motion and attitude during docking with the underwater charging platform, offering valuable reference for the reliability design of related systems.
