Research on the preparation of asphalt-based porous carbon by alkaline hydrothermal method and electrochemical energy storage
Abstract
Abstract In response to the national call to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality as soon as possible, it is imperative to transition from traditional fossil energy to clean and renewable energy. Although lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), as the most promising electrochemical energy storage devices, have been greatly developed, the traditional graphite anodes cannot meet actual demand. There is an urgent need to develop a new negative electrode material or a cheaper, large potassium-ion battery (KIB) for dry energy storage. Asphalt is abundant, has high carbon content, and offers high utilization value. By adjusting the microstructure and chemical composition of bituminous carbon, this paper aims to reveal the relationship between preparation method, microstructure, and lithium/potassium storage performance, and to explore a new approach for the high-value application of bitumen.
