Lightweight design of CNC machining center beams by response surface methodology
Abstract
Abstract Aiming at the problem of the heavy moving crossbeam of the CNC gantry machining center, a lightweight optimization design method for the fast response surface is proposed. Firstly, the parametric three-dimensional solid model and finite element model of the crossbeam were established based on PTC Creo and ANSYS Workbench for static strength calculation. Secondly, taking the weight of the crossbeam as the objective function and the overall deformation and the deformation of the upper and lower guide rails as the constraint conditions, the response surface lightweighting optimization of the crossbeam is carried out. Finally, the target value is subjected to secondary fitting to obtain a target value that is close to the actual situation. The results show that, with the stiffness remaining unchanged, the total weight of the crossbeam is reduced by approximately 8.9%, and the change in the natural frequency value of the crossbeam structure before and after optimization is very small. It is feasible and effective to optimize the design of crossbeams by using the response surface method, and it has strong engineering practicability.
