Abstract

Abstract The split-action caliper logging tool has the characteristics of high measurement accuracy. To study the motion displacement accuracy reliability of the split-action caliper logging tool’s pushing system, the pushing system’s motion displacement accuracy error model is built with MATLAB, considering dimensional errors of each component in the pushing system and kinematic pair clearance error. Motion displacement accuracy reliability analysis is conducted for different motion states of the pushing system. The results show the logging tool’s output end displacement reliability is over 0.996 in the open state and over 0.9955 in the measurement state. The system has high operational reliability.
