Aerodynamic numerical simulation of single vertical tail unmanned aerostat and propeller
Abstract
Abstract Using the multiple reference frame method, researchers established a simulation model of the aerodynamic characteristics of a single vertical-tail unmanned aerostat under a 10 m/s inflow and compared it with X-tail and tailless aerostats of the same shape. Through the Multi-Reference Frame method, the relationship between the thrust and the rotational speed of the split propeller with a diameter under different inflow and height conditions is obtained, and then the surface wind pressure of the single vertical tail aerostat equipped with a propeller is analysed. The results show that, compared with the tailless aerostat, the single vertical-tail configuration can reduce resistance, provide lift, and control both pitch and yawing moments. The tail end propeller has a strong drag reduction effect, and the bottom propeller can provide additional aerodynamic lift.
