Abstract

Abstract Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) is widely used in industrial nondestructive testing due to its flexibility and high resolution, but errors still exist in the quantitative assessment of defects. This paper systematically analyzes the main factors leading to equivalent size errors in defects, including acoustic beam characteristics, signal processing algorithms, geometric features of defects, and detection parameter settings. Through experimental comparisons and simulation modeling, methods for optimizing inspection schemes are explored, and improvement measures to reduce quantitative errors are proposed.
