Vibration analysis of functionally graded porous spherical-cylindrical combined shell under thermal environment
Abstract
Abstract Functionally graded porous spherical-cylindrical combined shells (FGP-SC) are a class of important engineering components and are widely used in defense and civilian fields. These shells usually work under thermo-mechanical environments, and their vibration characteristics serve as a valuable reference for design. A semi-analytical model is presented to analyze the vibration under thermal environments. Firstly, by employing the FSDT and the Rayleigh-Ritz method, the dynamic governing equations are established. The influences of the temperature field and material porosity gradient are all considered. The virtual spring technique is utilized to model various boundary conditions. Secondly, the convergence and correctness of the present model are verified against existing literature results. Lastly, the effects of key factors such as load types, temperature variations, porosity characteristics, and excitation methods on the transient response are investigated. This work contributes to advancing the design and application of porous structures with functional gradients under thermo-mechanical loading conditions.
