Abstract

Abstract Planetary Roller Screws (PRS), as high-precision and high-load-capacity transmission elements, are widely used in robotics, industrial automation, aerospace, and medical devices. Backlash is one of the key indicators for evaluating the transmission accuracy of PRS, making its accurate measurement highly significant. This paper systematically elaborates on the backlash testing methods for PRS. Simultaneously, a backlash testing apparatus based on high-precision displacement sensors and a data acquisition system is designed. The structural composition, working principle, and key technologies of the apparatus are detailed. Practical testing verifies the accuracy and reliability of the apparatus, providing an effective means for performance evaluation and quality control of PRS.
