A novel three-segment unequal-width radial wave winding for coreless disk motor
Abstract
Abstract Aiming at the characteristics of coreless disk motors with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) stator structure, this paper applies a novel three-segment unequal-width radial wave winding to this permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with the goal of maximizing the motor’s output power and efficiency. The winding is modeled and compared with traditional spiral windings and non-widened radial wave windings through finite element simulation, analyzing the effects of different windings on various performance aspects of PCB stator disk motors. The results show that the novel three-segment unequal-width radial wave winding can effectively reduce the total stator winding loss and improve motor efficiency while keeping the torque almost unchanged. Due to the flexibility of PCB design and manufacturing, this optimized design does not increase the manufacturing cost, thus possessing certain practical engineering value and design reference value.
