Development of a 3D printer for ceramic materials on the basis of DLP 3D printing technology
Abstract
Abstract Against the backdrop of rapid advances in 3D printing technology, this study addresses several issues that arise when using existing DLP printers for ceramic printing, including the unsuitability of visible light sources, the complexity of ceramic slurry preparation and handling, and the lack of systematic optimization of printing parameters. This work aims to modify a DLP-based 3D printer to enable efficient and precise printing of alumina ceramics, and to investigate in depth the influence of printing parameters on print quality. By replacing the light source, optimizing the mechanical structure, improving the preparation method of the ceramic slurry, and systematically studying key printing parameters, we successfully achieved these objectives. The results show that the performance of the modified printer is significantly enhanced, and an optimal parameter set suitable for alumina ceramic printing has been identified, such as a light intensity of 15% and a layer thickness of 100 μm. In addition, problems encountered during ceramic slurry preparation were identified and improved. This study provides key technical support and theoretical foundations for the broader application of 3D printing technology in ceramic manufacturing and promotes further innovation and development in this field.
