Study on on-site capture technology of SF 6 leakage in confined space based on adsorption-desorption cycle
Abstract
Abstract Sulfur hexafluoride (SF 6 ) is a key non–carbon dioxide greenhouse gas under strict control in China. Trace leakage of SF 6 from confined electrical equipment is difficult to detect and treat effectively with existing technologies, posing dual challenges: greenhouse gas emissions and resource waste. Therefore, this paper first determines the structural parameters of a four–column parallel adsorption bed via theoretical calculations and builds an experimental platform to investigate the adsorption, capture, and desorption characteristics of SF 6 gas. Dynamic adsorption capture experiments and vacuum heating desorption experiments were conducted under simulated leakage conditions typical of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) chambers. On this basis, an integrated on-site capture system for SF 6 leaked in confined spaces was designed. The experimental results show that the ST - 100 microcrystalline material can effectively adsorb low-concentration SF 6 in dry air and regenerate the adsorbent via vacuum pumping combined with heating desorption. The integrated system can achieve highly efficient enrichment of ppm-level SF 6 from air, increasing the SF 6 volume fraction in the recovered gas to more than 5 %. This provides a practical and feasible technical solution for on-site emergency treatment and resource-oriented recovery of SF 6 leakage from electrical equipment.
