The development of a mobile-based crowdsourcing platform for household food waste collection and composting
Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this project is to create a mobile application-based crowdsourcing platform to address food waste issues in Balun Ijuk Village. According to data, food waste accounts for 39.8% of total national garbage, yet 85% of organic waste in Balun Ijuk Village is poorly managed. As a result, an application prototype was created with features like pickup requests, composting guides, and reward point systems. The testing results showed that 90% of respondents found the program simple to use, effectively collecting 150 kg of food waste, which was then processed into 30 kg of compost. In conclusion, this digital platform is a viable approach for creating a circular ecosystem, empowering communities, and promoting environmental sustainability.
