Bacterial diversity in the sandy clay loam soil at the edutourism park of Universitas Bangka Belitung
Abstract
Abstract Universitas Bangka Belitung’s Edutourism Park (UBB’s Edutourism Park) serves as one of the designated green spaces within the Universitas Bangka Belitung. This park is home to 80 plant species. The type of soil in Edu tourism park is sandy clay loam soil. This study explores the diversity of bacterial communities present in sandy clay loam soil at UBB’s Edutourism Park. The bacterial diversity was investigated through metagenome and high-throughput sequencing using Oxford Nanopore Technology with primers 27F and 1492R. The result showed that Pseudonomatoda is the highest phylum (relative abundance 49.56 %). Vicinamibacter silvestris (31.32% or 3.7k reads), Gaiella occulta (28.40% or 3.36k reads), and Pseudolabrys taiwanensis (26.64% or 3.13k reads) had high relative abundance of bacteria. Based on the composition of bacteria, the soil contained beneficial bacteria for supporting the growth of plants. Bacteria with high relative abundance can fix nitrogen, degrade heavy metals, control pathogenic fungi, and increase plant biomass. This park contained bacteria that support the fertility of soil. Based on this condition, it is better to maintain the natural environment in this park.
