The occurence of springs and the quality of physical-chemical properties of springs in Ngadirojo District, Pacitan Regency, East Java
Abstract
Abstract Ngadirojo District in Pacitan Regency, East Java province is an area that often experiences drought and is included in the category of areas that are predominantly scarce groundwater. This is a serious challenge for the fulfillment of raw water for the community, especially in the long dry season. This study aims to identify the potential for the emergence of springs that flow throughout the year and the quality of the physical-chemical properties of water in this area, as an alternative source of raw water. The methods used include hydrogeological field observation and secondary data collection for the inventory of spring water and physical-chemical properties (pH and TDS). The results of this study can inventory as many as 60 springs that appear dominant in corrosive andesite rocks and limestone with a discharge variation of 0.012 to 6.79 L/s which can meet the domestic water needs in this region in quantity. A relatively large quantity of spring water discharge appears in the limestone. Based on physical-chemical properties, the quality of spring water has met the standards of the Ministry of Health Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia with an average pH of 6.70 and an average TDS of 152 mg/L.
