Abstract

Abstract The increase in solar panel surface temperature during the energy conversion process is one of the main factors contributing to the decrease in photovoltaic system efficiency, especially in tropical regions with high solar radiation intensity such as Indonesia. This study aims to test and compare the effectiveness of several types of coolants in reducing the surface temperature of solar panels and increasing their electrical energy conversion efficiency. The method used is an experimental approach by applying three types of coolants liquid, Velux coolant, and Motorrad coolant on a monocrystalline solar panel cooling system. Observed parameters include panel surface temperature, voltage, current, and power output. The results showed that the use of coolants significantly reduced panel temperature compared to the condition without any cooling, with performance varying based on the type of coolant. Motorrad coolant demonstrated the best performance in stabilizing temperature and enhancing energy output.
