Implementation of the InaRisk platform to evaluate community flood preparedness in Tiwet Village, Kalitengah District, Lamongan
Abstract
Abstract Tiwet Village, located in Kalitengah District, Lamongan Regency, is identified as a flood-prone area with high vulnerability to flood disasters. The village’s topography, which lies lower than the tributaries of the Bengawan Solo River—specifically the Bengawan Jero River—contributes significantly to its susceptibility to flooding. InaRisk is a disaster risk assessment platform that provides comprehensive data on potential disaster threats, vulnerability levels (including population, physical, economic, and environmental aspects), community capacity, and overall disaster risk. Community participation plays a crucial role in the disaster mitigation and preparedness process. Measuring community preparedness is essential, as it is a dynamic aspect that can evolve over time. Enhanced community preparedness is critical for the development of sustainable and effective mitigation strategies. Therefore, well-planned preparedness efforts are necessary to minimize the adverse impacts of disasters on local communities. This study aims to describe the level of flood disaster preparedness among residents of Tiwet Village and to use the findings to formulate recommendations for improving community preparedness. The research employs a descriptive method with data collected through questionnaires distributed to the community via the InaRisk platform. The data were subsequently analyzed using the InaRisk application. A total of 120 respondents participated in the survey. The findings reveal that 62 respondents (51.67%) were categorized as having a low level of preparedness. The findings reflects limited awareness and inadequate training in flood emergency response. Located in a high-risk flood area, Tiwet Village requires strengthened disaster mitigation efforts. The InaRisk Personal application serves as an effective tool for risk communication and public education, promoting preparedness through accessible hazard information.
