Evaluation Of Sorghum Substitution For Corn In Laying Duck Feed To Improve The Physical Quality Of Eggs And Omega-3 Content
Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the substitution of sorghum (*Sorghum bicolor* (L.) Moench) for corn in laying duck feed and its effects on the physical quality and omega-3 content of eggs. The research was conducted using 120 Indian Runner × Pekin hybrid ducks aged six months, arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and five replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (100% corn, 0% sorghum), P1 (75% corn, 25% sorghum), P2 (50% corn, 50% sorghum), P3 (25% corn, 75% sorghum), and P4 (0% corn, 100% sorghum). Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that increasing the proportion of sorghum in the feed significantly improved egg omega-3 levels, egg weight, yolk index, albumen index (HU), yolk color, and shell thickness (P
