Abstract

A discussion of searches for radio technosignatures. Begins with a discussion of radio astronomy basics, including the formation of dynamic spectra and barycentric drift.Includes a calculation of sensitivity to spectrally resolved and unresolved signals, and of radio frequency interference and how it can be mitigated. Concludes with a survey of some historic, current, and future searches and the upper limits they have set, and quantifications of their survey speeds. Includes exercises for students.
