The Case for SETI: Beyond the Drake Equation
Abstract
A discussion of the maximal case of SETI. Includes a discussion of some of the limitations of the Drake Equation, especially those that cause it to potentially underestimate the number of technological species in the Galaxy due to the fact that technological life can spread and outlast its native biosphere. Includes a discussion of the relative merits of searches for biosignatures and technosignatures.
