Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a novel reaching law for designing the disturbance observer (DOB) and sliding mode control (SMC) for the surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drive control system. The control design was based on the field oriented control (FOC) for speed and currents control. First, the estimated disturbance can be obtained with the model of state observer of the speed control axis. Afterwards, the disturbance observer is designed based on the dq -axes with the requirement information of i q and the estimated and real speeds of the motor. Second, to design the speed controller, the novel sliding mode control was used to obtain the goal. Third, the mathematical analysis is given to show the feasibility and correction of the proposed method for the motor control system. Fourth, the proposed method is proved by two scenarios of simulation and experiment. The obtained results are given with fast response speed together with the strong suppression of disturbance rejection.
