Epilogue
Abstract
Abstract This epilogue summarises some of the key limitations of the current book and ideas for overcoming them in the future. I discuss how our “Many Voices” global collaborations with over 70 researchers investigating acoustic and behavioural relationships between music and language show promise as a model for making future comparative musicological research more inclusive. I also suggest how future collaborative research using more qualitative approaches (e.g., autoethnography, thematic analysis) may help resolve some remaining limitations in the primarily quantitative work presented in this book. I end by inviting readers to join in the collaborative challenge to improve the future of comparative musicology.
