Abstract

Abstract This chapter moves from theory to practice by applying the neurodiversity paradigm in education, work, criminal justice, and health and social care. It shows how neuronormative systems marginalize neurodivergent people and demands epistemic disobedience to dismantle barriers in research, policy, and practice. The chapter presents inclusive, emancipatory interventions in schools—specifically dialogical learning and goals of individual flourishing—that replace exclusionary standardized models. It analyses workplace adjustments, critiques the school-to-prison pipeline, explores justice alternatives, and promotes co-production in healthcare and social services to affirm complexity. Finally, the chapter endorses neurodivergent leadership and participatory methods to democratize institutions and drive life-span transformative change for neurodivergent people.
