Abstract

Abstract Training in qualitative methods is not complete without some attention to how findings can be presented to the variety of audiences who will be interested in the work of qualitative researchers. In Chapter 8, writing and dissemination are the focus. Consideration of different audiences (e.g., academics, practitioners, and policymakers), what they read (e.g., peer-reviewed articles, reports), and how to write about methods, results, and incorporate quotes is detailed through guidance and examples based in the literature and experience. The chapter also offers exercises that instructors can use to help students practice the different approaches discussed so that they can become effective messengers for public health research.
