The Poverty of Theory in the Classroom
Abstract
Abstract The same discursive strategies examined so far in the book are identified in a series of once classic and contemporary world religions textbooks, demonstrating how the discourse on world religions and the university classroom are both sites where this conservative and idealist discourse on religion (as necessarily being separate from practical, political life) is effectively reproduced in each new generation of scholars.
