Melts and Blends of Polymers and Copolymers
Abstract
Abstract Chapter 6 discusses properties of blends of linear polymers and melts of copolymers. It begins with an extension of the lattice model to polymer blends and its application to chain collapse in the presence of a polymeric solvent. It next looks at the origin of microphase/mesophase separation in melts of copolymers and continues by deriving the free energy describing segregation of individual blocks in symmetric diblock copolymers. Finally, the structure factors for blends of linear chains and melts of diblock copolymers are calculated.
