Abstract

Abstract This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) may affect the diversity of ideas, viewpoints, political systems, and cultures, as well as impact economic competitiveness. It provides a conceptual framework to explore AI’s impact on diversity and competition by reviewing interdisciplinary literature. Additionally, strategies are discussed to prevent our decisions, economies, and thought processes from being overly influenced by algorithm-driven recommendations. It is concluded that the responsibility for establishing suitable guidelines for companies seeking to enhance competition in AI-dependent markets does not rest solely with regulatory authorities; humans also have an individual responsibility to recognize, nurture, and advocate for diversity in our preferences, thinking, and consumption behaviors.
