Abstract

Abstract This chapter examines the Moroccan healthcare system, focusing on public health policies and the pursuit of universal health coverage. It highlights significant progress in maternal and child health and vaccination programs. By analyzing Morocco’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and comparing it with approaches in other MENA countries, the study emphasizes both progress and challenges in financing mechanisms, expanding healthcare access, and enhancing social protection. Key initiatives, such as developing healthcare services, implementing social programs such as TADAMON, and integrating telemedicine, were essential in mitigating the impact of the pandemic. However, disparities in access to care, particularly between urban and rural areas, persist, necessitating comprehensive strategies and policies to ensure equitable and sustainable universal healthcare coverage.
