‘Visual Literacy: Seeing the Skin’ course effect on clinician observational and descriptive skills in skin of colour and white skin
Abstract
Visual literacy courses have demonstrated improvement in dermatologists’ descriptive and observational ability. Their effect on this in the context of skin of colour has not been examined. While US-based courses have also evaluated the impact on clinician wellbeing, UK-based courses have not reported on this impact. We report on the effect of a short visual literacy course on subjective and objective measures of descriptive and observational ability in both pigmented and white skin, and assess clinician wellbeing.
