Abstract

Dermatological surgery contributes to climate change in a number of domains, including through the use of single-use (disposable) surgical equipment. Our analysis demonstrates that multi-use surgical equipment was more economically cost-effective and environmentally friendly than single-use surgical equipment. A change to multi-use equipment as a default would have positive implications for dermatological surgery’s carbon footprint.
