Time to reconsider blood monitoring guidance: a retrospective review of patients with psoriasis requiring discontinuation of biologic therapy
Abstract
Regular blood monitoring is currently advocated for patients with psoriasis receiving biologic therapy because of their immunomodulatory potential. Our study presents long-term follow-up data from a large cohort of patients with psoriasis and demonstrates a low incidence of discontinuation of biologic therapy as a result of laboratory abnormalities. We discuss the potential implications of the relevant findings for future blood monitoring guidance, particularly given the growing number of patients being treated with biologics.
