Abstract

CARBO-XXXIX, the 39th International conference on Emerging Trends in Glycoscience and Glycotechnology (ETGG-2025) was held November 21–23, 2025 organized by Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), India with the Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologists of India (ACCTI). ACCTI organises conferences every year at various institutions across the country, with a total of 38 carbohydrate conferences successfully held so far. This year’s conference included 10 plenary, 20 invited, 18 short invited and 9 flash talks from eminent scientists, academicians and industrialists from across the country and abroad, as well as 126 poster presentations on the broad topics of glycosylation, glycobiochemistry, synthesis of new glycans, cancer biology, and novel trends in glycoscience. The motivation behind the organisation of the conference was to create a platform where younger glycoscientists and scholars could be exposed to cutting-edge science and technologies in the field, and to encourage sustained development in the broader and multidisciplinary areas focusing on carbohydrates.
