Preface
Abstract
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the practical challenges in international commercial contracts. It begins by addressing conflicts of laws in cross-border agreements and then focuses primarily on comparing the CISG and PICC, highlighting key differences between them. The book also explores other essential international instruments, including the UN Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Commercial Contracts, the UN Convention on Limitation, Incoterms© 2020, UCP 600, and the URDG 750, offering readers a well-rounded picture of the legal frameworks governing international commerce. Comparing unified solutions with their domestic counterparts facilitates a thorough understanding of uniform law. This resource is ideal for practitioners and scholars seeking clarity in international contract law. It is indispensable for students who envisage taking part in the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as it provides the necessary background knowledge for a successful participation in this global competition. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the many individuals who contributed to the preparation of Global Commercial Contracts. In particular, we extend our deepest thanks to Andrea Cointa Lamas Bernal, who served as our main research assistant. We are also grateful to the team of research assistants whose efforts enriched our analysis and facilitated the completion of this project.
