Treating people equally
Abstract
This chapter looks into leaders treating people equally. A leader’s role must be fully aware of the nature of interactions between team members and their colleagues in the police service and police officer relationships with members of the public. Police sergeants and inspector leaders, who are in very close contact with the public, must set high standards of personal behaviour as an example to others. The chapter tackles several equality law provisions in correlation with institutional racism and public sector equality duty.
