Abstract

This chapter details the concept and purpose of feedback concerning sergeant and inspector leaders. Feedback primarily involves commenting in a constructive, assertive way on the behaviours and performance of individual team members and the team as a whole. Moreover, feedback entails identifying and remarking on good progress and difficulties and tackling any obstacles to the completion of tasks and objectives. The chapter explains how a leader can use feedback skills to debrief teamwork and projects. It explains that feedback is a non-hostile method of communication and exploration, so a leader should encourage feedback to help develop themselves and the team.
