Aesthetic Surgery
Abstract
Abstract The aesthetic surgery section provides the reader with descriptions of and commentary on landmark papers covering the topics of the ageing face, fat transfer, rhytidectomy, blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty. It looks at three-dimensional (3D) changes and relationships between critical facial landmarks, the recognition more than 100 years ago of fat grafting as a possibility for facial reconstruction and its place in newer techniques in regenerative medicine, the range of procedures involved in a lower blepharoplasty, including fat conservation, fat repositioning, fat augmentation, orbicularis retaining ligament release, and septal reset. It also includes a table that outlines the modifications of the septal reset procedure.
