Abstract

Abstract This section covers the basic anatomical knowledge required for the MRCEM Primary Examination, as it is outlined in the RCEM Basic Sciences syllabus. The syllabus places emphasis on structures which are of most clinical relevance to Emergency Medicine practice. One third of the examination questions (60 questions) will relate to anatomy: a large proportion of the examination. Information in this section has been laid out by system, as presented in the syllabus. This section on anatomy covers the upper limb, the lower limb, the thorax, the abdomen, the head and neck, the central nervous system (CNS), and cranial nerve lesions.
