Abstract

Abstract This section covers the pharmacology knowledge required for the MRCEM Primary Examination. It does this as outlined within the RCEM Basic Sciences curriculum. The examination assesses knowledge of the pharmacology of key medications which may be encountered by those involved in Emergency Medicine practice. It also covers the uses of these key medications in the management of key emergency presentations. The examination paper contains 24 pharmacology questions. The pharmacology curriculum maps to relevant sections of the British National Formulary (BNF). Further, the pharmacology curriculum takes much of its material from this source. This section is presented in a similar way.
